Light up the Night goes Virtual for Month of November
The charity’s annual Light up the Night sponsored walk is taking place slightly different this year due to local restrictions. People wanting to participate in the much loved event can still do so by creating their own route and distance whilst raising vital funds for the hospice.
Woodlands Hospice Head of Income Generation Jonathan Burgess said: “Our virtual event is aimed to light up the month of November and is an exciting option for anyone wanting to participate in a fun activity. As we can’t host our event like normal this year we are encouraging our supporters to send in pictures and videos from their walks so we can share them through our social media and website. We hope that many can take part within the government guidelines and share their walks with us via social media, whilst helping raise funds for the hospice. We may not be together this year for our Light up the Night walk but we can all still take part, have fun and share our experience.
We very much need help to raise vital funds and bridge the shortfall from our cancelled events. We hope this option will help towards raising the £4,000 we need each day to continue our specialist, free-of-charge service for patients and their families.”
Woodlands Hospice will be streaming a Facebook live video of a walk on Saturday 14th November 2020, where a small team will “Light up the Night” on their own walk whilst talking through their experience of the year so far.
