Woodlands Hospice Receives Five Star Award for Third Time

Woodlands Hospice has once again been awarded Five Stars for its catering facilities during a recent unannounced visit from Liverpool City Council Environmental Health.  This is the third time the Hospice has received this highest level rating which follows on from the previous award back in July 2015.

During the visit the Hospice in Fazakerley was audited oncleanliness, the standard of menus, training of staff, maintenance of equipment and health and safety.

Bernard O’Pray, Woodlands Catering Manager, said: “The Hospice catering team consistently provides a high class service to our patients and families and the catering we provide for our patients we see as contributing to their care and wellbeing”.

Karen Mullarkey, Facilities and Information Manager at Woodlands, said: “Woodlands’ kitchens supply meals round the clock for up to 15 inpatients, as well as catering for day patients and staff.

Food health and safety standards at the hospice are very high but to receive the endorsement of the Five Star Award for a third time from the Environmental Health audit is excellent news for the Hospice and the team directly involved”.
