Public Collections
Last year we raised over £25,000 in public collections and events and we are excited to do as many public collections as we can again in 2024 to help raise funds for Woodlands Hospice.
If you can spare a few hours on any of the following dates, we’d love to hear from you.
Saturday 7th December 2024 - Mersey Rail - Central Station
Saturday 30th November 2024 - Mersey Rail - Central Station
Monday 16th December - Morrisons or Home Bargains - Maghull
Wednesday 18th December 2024 - Morrisons or Home Bargains - Maghull
For more detail please see the pdf below containing times and people needed.
What is involved in a Public Collection
Our collection volunteers are in pairs and are allocated a two-hour shift which involves taking cash donations from the public in our collection buckets or tap machine. Our collections may be at a supermarket or outdoors supporting choirs or performers at local events.
Our collection volunteers find it so rewarding when we let them know how much each collection raised as they can see how a little bit of their time helped their local hospice in such a big way.
If your a supermarket community champion or work in a garden centre, theatre or venue with lots of footfall please get in touch with our Community Fundraising Manager Paula Parle:

On these days we often set up a small table to raise awareness of our cause and the services we provide to give the day a real community feel.
